Karthika, ‘The Ko girl’, who is playing the female lead in Bharathiraja's comeback film 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' is no more the news. The latest buzz about her is that she will be facing the camera without any makeup.

'Like how Karthika's mother Radha acted without any makeup in Bharathiraja's 'Mudhal Mariyathai' which had thespian Sivaji Ganesan in the lead role, the young actress is now doing for 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum',' unit sources say.

Meanwhile, expressing happiness about bagging such a 'meaty' role, Karthika says, 'I get to play four stages in Annakodi’s life — from a kid to a teenager, a young woman and an old lady.'

She adds: 'Initially, even the director wasn’t too confident about casting me in the role, especially after seeing my photos in modern avatars. But once the photo shoot for 'Annakodi' was done, he was convinced that I could play the immature village lass at ease. There are only a few lucky actors from my generation who have such roles to boast of”.
