Karunas is one of the leading comedians of Kollywood. While taking care of his career as a humour artist, the actor played protagonist in a couple of films- Dindigul Sarathy and Ambasamudram Ambani.
And after a break, he is back to do lead roles. Karunas is now playing the hero in Ragalaipuram and Chandamama. Shootings of both the films, which are comedy capers, are simultaneously going on.
Directed by Radhakrishnan, Chandamama has lyrics by Vairamuthu, music by Srikanth Deva and cinematography by Ananda Kuttan. Swetha Basu is playing Karuna's lady love in this movie, which revolves around a writer.
Says the director, 'Karunas plays Santhanakrishnan, a common man. One day, he realises his writing skills and starts writing stories for kids, under the pen name Chandamama. Soon he becomes a popular writer. The movie is loaded with humour and sentiments.'
