Be it films, commercials, popularity or earnings, looks like Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is leading the lot with panache. And this was proved yet again when the actress became the highest taxpayer among the leading ladies in the industry.

Katrina had two blockbusters in 2012, her film 'Ek Tha Tiger' with Salman Khan and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' with Shah Rukh Khan. Both were proud entrants of the 100-crore club. Apart from these blockbusters, her earnings from commercial endorsements and stage performances added big moolah to her kitty as well.

In 2011, the Income Tax Department had conducted a raid in Katrina's home, based on the suspicion that the actress was evading tax. Katrina wanted to ensure that history does not repeat again; an incident that had shed a lot of negative limelight and had added to the unwanted drama in the actress' personal life, so she opted to issue an advance tax of Rs. 4.5 crores to the department.

When asked about the proactive tax payment, the actress responded, "Paying regular taxes is of extreme importance. It enables the smooth functioning of the state. This also helps us continue with our job of entertaining our fans."

The actress is currently working on films like 'Dhoom 3' with Aamir Khan and the Bollywood remake of 'Knight and Day' which is 'Bang Bang' with Hrithik Roshan.
