(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katy Perry wants to become a British citizen when she marries Russell Brand.

The 25-year-old US pop star is planning to wed the British comedian later this year. Katy has previously said she could never live in London because she can’t stand rainy weather, but appears to have changed her mind after her latest visit.

The star appeared on Alan Carr’s talk show Chatty Man last night, and revealed she is planning to apply for British citizenship when she is married.

“I love London and just being here,” Katy gushed. “I’ve decided that when the day does come, I will become a dual citizen. Then I can just pass through Customs real quick.

“You’ve already kind of adopted me so maybe I don’t have to go through all the paperwork?”

Katy has used her latest visit to the UK to bond with Russell’s mother Barbara. She took her along to Alan Carr’s studio yesterday, and is said to have become so close to her she already calls her “mum”.

“Katy has become close to Russell’s mum. She adores Barbara. They’re in constant contact and speak on the phone most days,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Star. “Barbara has introduced her to the UK way of life, hoping Katy won’t feel homesick when she’s over here.

“They try and see each other as much as possible when they’re in the same country. Katy joked that she calls her own mother mom and Russell’s mother mum. Katy also buys Barbara presents from around the world while she’s working.” (C) Cover Media
