Abhishek Kapoor directed 'Kedarnath' starring Sushant Singh Rajput and debutant Sara Ali Khan is confirmed to hit silver-screen on December 21, 2018.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the news, ''#Kedarnath release confirmed... Christmas 2018 weekend: 21 Dec 2018... Stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan... Abhishek Kapoor directs." 

The shooting in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is packed up and the cast and crew of the film proceed to Mumbai to start further shoot of the film by the end of November or December 2017. The filmmaker is also set to make this a worldwide release.

According to latest reports, the makers of the film will be recreating the tragic visuals of the flood for the film in a controlled environment in Mumbai. As the makers are unable to film such scenes in natural locations, a set will be erected in Mumbai for the same. 

In an interview, Abhishek Kapoor said, "Like all my films, 'Kedarnath' is also written passionately. It's a love story and it's got the beautiful majestic Kedarnath temple as the backdrop. Let me start making the film and let the film do the talking."

Apart from a relishing love story, the film is all about the real tragic incident of the 2013 floods that ruined Uttrakhand with landslides taking more than 5,000 lives.
