Kelly Osbourne: I looked like a mummy at gym

19th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kelly Osbourne says she looked mummified when she went to a Japanese gym and had to cover all her tattoos.

The television star was visiting the country to support her rock star father Ozzy on the Japan leg of his current world tour, and found time to visit a sports centre so she could maintain her athletic figure.

In Japan showing inkings in a gym is considered disrespectful, so the star was asked to cover her body art with flesh-coloured tape. Because Kelly has so many tattoos, she had to cover her entire body, and joked that she ended up resembling an Egyptian mummy.

I looked mummified. But it was funny more than anything, and luckily the gyms dont have mirrors so I didnt have to look at myself in the strange get-up, she laughed in her Closer magazine column.

Kelly also had the chance to sample some Japanese delicacies, although she wasnt too taken with the Udon noodle soup she tried. The broth contained squid ink, which is somewhat of an acquired taste, although the celebrity admits the other Japanese cuisine she tasted was delicious.

When the waitress delivered it, it seemed normal enough, but then she started yelling, Stir, stir, stir! recalled Kelly over the soup incident.

And once I did, the soup turned thick and black! It turns out if was made of squid ink - it was gross.

In Japan its all about respect, so I had to be polite and eat it, but I could taste it for the next two days. Other than that disaster, the food in Japan has been the best Ive ever had. (C) Cover Media
