(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kevin McHale has claimed he is "not that famous".

The actor plays Artie Abrams in American series Glee, about a group of kids who love singing. Despite the incredible international success of the programme, he hasn't reached the starry heights of A-List status.

The 23-year-old explained that although he's well known, he doesn't think he's that famous as he hasn't been invited to party with super stars like Beyonc Knowles yet.

Speaking of the singer, Kevin, who is currently travelling the UK with the Glee Live! In Concert! Tour, said the cast members watched her perform at the recent Glastonbury music festival and were awe-struck.

"I'm not actually that famous. It's not the same level as if you had a big party with Beyonc," he told BBC Radio 1.

"I saw it [Beyonc's performance] backstage at the show. It was unreal. She kept going and going and going. We couldn't stop watching her."

The actor also revealed that before landing his role in Glee, he used to be shy.

Thanks to playing a disabled teenager in the show, he has learned to embrace his own unique quirks.

"Before I got the show, I wouldn't go up to anybody," he said. "I'm still a freak, but now I have no shame. I just go up to anybody!" (C) Cover Media
