Kevin Smith recalls Bruce Willis argument

30th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bruce Willis reportedly told a film director he'd "successfully been Bruce Willis for 25 years" during a heated argument.

The film star and Kevin Smith worked together on 2010's Cop Out, which Kevin helmed. The director claims the experience wasn't a pleasurable one as he didn't bond with Bruce.

"Bruce Willis was just weird. We didn't get along. He didn't like me at all. I thought that working with Bruce Willis was something that I wanted to do, until I did it," he told British newspaper The Times.

"[He once shouted at me] I'm Bruce Willis! I've been Bruce Willis successfully for 25 years! How long have you been Silent Bob, motherf**ker?'"

Silent Bob was the character Kevin famously played in 1994 cult smash Clerks.

Kevin recently announced he is retiring from making movies. He's still busy though and is currently working on a reality television programme, a book and some other ventures.

The star loves working, revealing he relies on something unusual to spur him on.

"From 2008, I've been smoking weed constantly," he said. "I'm practically a stoner by trade now. But it never makes me sleepy or lethargic. On the contrary, it makes me creative, and every time I pick up a joint the rule I've made for myself is that I have to start creating, and producing work."

Kevin's latest movie is called Red State and then he is making one more before he finishes directing. He's convinced he's made the right choice and is thrilled with the way things are going for him.

"I'm ecstatic, dude. Because I'm close to the end. I'm one content cat. Yes, there's an inner fear that I'm doing so much because somewhere inside I know that I'm going to die. But even that doesn't make me sad. I'm happier now than I've been in a long time," he explained. "But that's probably because of all the weed." (C) Cover Media
