The TV star announced she is to marry basketball player Kris Humphries yesterday, after six months of dating. He popped the questions with a 20.5 carat engagement ring, which is said to have cost $2 million.
Kim's family have been discussing their excitement about the upcoming wedding, with her mom Kris keen to get to know her fianc better.
"She'll need a bodyguard, for sure. Oh wait, she has one already," Kris laughed.
"The girls have been spending so much time away and Kris was in season playing basketball. So this is all happening for the rest of the family kind of suddenly It's all happening fast and furious."
Humphries plays for the New Jersey Nets, meaning Kim will likely move when they tie the knot.
The Kardashian family are close and while Kim's sisters Kourtney and Khlo are worried they will miss her a lot, Kris remains philosophical.
"Well, eventually she might have to because that's where her future husband works. Don't think she'll stay in L.A.," she said during a press conference.
The Kardashian matriarch also revealed Humphries came to her and husband Bruce Jenner to ask for Kim's hand in marriage. However, the rest of the family had no idea until a special dinner.
"It was really just so cute the way that he wanted to surprise her," she explained.
The couple are rumoured to be tying the knot this summer, although Kim's family insist planning hasn't started yet. Kourtney and Khlo are sure Kim won't much help though, and know the ceremony will be a lavish affair.
"It's going to be royal wedding number two," Khlo laughed. (C) Cover Media
