Lady Gaga ‘talks in third person’

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lady Gaga’s friend knew she had “crossed that boundary” when she began referring to herself in the third person.

The singer is famously flamboyant, and loves shocking with extravagant costumes both on and off stage. She is regularly seen out in just her underwear, and has repeatedly insisted her image isn’t calculated.

In a new book by Maureen Callahan called Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga, a number of people who have known the star discuss her fame. Amanda Lepore, a transsexual who is well known on the New York nightclub scene, recalled one time Gaga invited some people to her then-boyfriend Speedy’s parents’ home for spaghetti.

“She was super-nice and down-to-earth,” Amanda said. “But then she was like ‘Oh, Gaga would do this,’ ‘Gaga that.’ But not like it was her – like it was a third person. I think she’s crossed that boundary.”

The dinner took place last year, and Amanda remembers being surprised by the other people present. She imagined Gaga would have hip and stylish friends, and was shocked by how some of them looked.

“They had fake tans. One of the boys had tweezed eyebrows and shaved body hair,” she explains in the tome.

Wendy Starland saw Gaga performing in a club and was so impressed she introduced her to producer Rob Fusari. Both Wendy and Rob are interviewed in the book, with Wendy admitting she was initially unsure Gaga had the right look to sell records.

“I said we can do something theatrical so it’s not the attention on her looks,” Wendy explained. “She talked about it too. She was like, ‘I know my look is untraditional and I’m not the classic beauty. We have to do other things.’” (C) Cover Media
