Lady Gaga's gown inspired by words

25th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - The gold dress Lady Gaga donned for a scene in her Judas promo was based on four inspirational' words.

The American songstress is famed for her headline-grabbing attire including the dress made entirely of meat she donned for the MTV Video Music Awards last year.

The 25-year-old singer wore a gold dress for a water-crashing scene in the controversial video for her song Judas - which is taken from her second full-length studio album Born This Way.

Emerging American designer Sally LaPointe designed the gown for the eccentric star, and has revealed she didn't realise it would be featuring in one of Gaga's dramatic promos.

"We didn't know it was for a video," she confessed in an interview with British newspaper The Telegraph. "They gave me four description words and I kind of ran with it. It's better that way, to come up with your own twist on something, that's when the best work comes out."

Gaga appears in the high-collared metallic floor-length gown in a scene where water crashes over her and envelops the whole dress. Sally has joked that she didn't want the dress back after it was soaked.

"I saw that [scene] and I was laughing so hard. People were saying, 'I assume you didn't get the dress back?!'" she laughed.

Gaga has worn Sally's designs before. The floor-length black gown she wore to the Consumer Electronics Show in January and the structured red blazer which she wore on The Oprah Winfrey Show earlier this month were both the talented dress maker's creations. (C) Cover Media
