Larry Hagman: I'm older and dumber

8th September 2012

Larry Hagman is "older and dumber" since starring in Dallas the first time round.

The 80-year-old actor is famed for portraying J.R. Ewing in the original TV show and has reprised the role for the new series.

Larry is changed as a person since starring in the hit 80s programme.

"Well, I got a new liver for one thing and I'm older and dumber. Don't you find that the more you know, the more you don't know and can't ever learn because there's too much stuff out there?" he mused in an interview with the UK version of OK! magazine.

"I wouldn't know how to be a doctor or fly an airplane, or things that it would take me years to learn how to do at my age. I think we're lucky to be here."

Larry battled with his alcohol intake in the past and had a liver transplant in 1995. The star has joked that his condition influenced his performance on Dallas.

"Yes, the alcohol probably made it better!" he laughed. "Today I only drink water. My days with alcohol are over."
