The reality television star who turned 25 yesterday - is one of Americas best-loved style icons thanks to her laidback approach to fashion.

Having previously worked as an intern at Teen Vogue, as well as having her own LC by Lauren Conrad fashion line with US retailer Kohl's, Lauren knows a fair amount about trends, and has revealed some of her ultimate style combinations.

Recalling a navy shorts and olive green blouse outfit she wore to a Hollywood party, the star admitted the colour union really worked for her.

I love pairing navy and olive green together for a military chic look, she told People.

The star also likes darker colours when she wants to appear smart. Lauren enjoys the versatility of black skinny jeans, because they can be dressed up with heels for a night partying, but also work well in a business environment if teamed with the correct jacket.
