The annual CineMaa Awards (see gallery), a prestigious event that marks the honour of great people in the South film industry yet again created a mark on Sunday, 17th June, 2012.
To top it all, veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao was honoured with the 'Life Time Achievement Award' for his contribution to the south Indian film industry.
Top actors and directors from the Tollywood industry attended the event and felicitated him.
Speaking on the occassion, producer Ashwini Dutt said that his banner 'Vyjayanthi Movies' is known for making prestigious films, and the credit goes to K. Raghavendra Rao who has made 14 films under his banner.
The director is known as a pioneer of commercial cinema in Tollywood. He has also earned the nickname 'Darsakendrudu' which means 'best among the directors' for his contributions to Telugu cinema since his debt in 1975.
