(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan's absenteeism has sent Bret Easton Ellis into a fury.

The 26-year-old actress stars alongside porn star James Deen in The Canyons.

The venerated American Psycho author wrote the screenplay for The Canyons and was supportive of Lindsay taking on a leading role in the film.

Lindsay is a notorious flake and apparently this behaviour was exhibited with Bret's film Thursday.

"Patrick Bateman has just headed over to Lindsay Lohan's hotel to confront her as to why she missed her f**king ADR on The Canyons today..." Bret wrote on Twitter.

ADR is an acronym for Automatic Dialogue Replacement, which is also commonly referred to as "looping". An actor shows up to record lines that editors then place in a pre-recorded scene later.

Patrick Bateman is the protagonist in American Psycho, who slaughters several women during a serial killing frenzy.

Lindsay has experienced a difficult time recently. She claimed she was assaulted in her hotel room by a man she'd met in a club and had a violent argument with her mother to which the police were called.

It's been reported Lindsay will open up about her chaotic life during an interview with Barbara Walters in the next few weeks. (C) Cover Media
