Madonna is tired of being "reduced to a sound bite".
The American singer has turned director for her new project, movie W.E. It's about the love affair between American divorce Wallis Simpson and Britain's King Edward VIII, which led to the king abdicating the throne in 1936.
Madonna can totally understand Wallis' predicament.
"I think I had an insight into her character that possibly other directors wouldn't have, because I know what it's like to be reduced to a sound bite," she laughed to the British edition of Grazia magazine.
The star tries to live life as she wants, although it can be hard at times. She knows people look up to her and are very interested in what she has to say, so she has to be careful when discussing things in public.
"I am aware that everything I say and do is judged. I use that to the greater good, I know that I can influence people," she said.
