MAMI fever continues on Day 3 & 4

MAMI Film Festival has grown in size and fame over the years and its popularity and the crowd it has managed to pull since the first day is spectacular. The third day of 13th Mumbai Film Festival continued with amazing enthusiasm.  Following the two power-packed days, the third day saw the opening of the 4th Rendez-vous with French Cinema, with 'The Artist’' which competed at the Cannes Film Festival 2011 as the opening film.  Unmatched numbers of audiences were witnessed for the two screenings of the film, following which a third screening of the film was also announced for the fourth day. Other films which were a crowd-puller were 'She Monkey's', 'The Whistle Blower', 'Generation P', 'Michael' and 'Urumi'.

Yash Chopra, Shyam Benegal, Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Riteish Deshmukh, Ayaan Mukherjee, Shahana Goswami, Onir, Vikramaditya Motwane, Santosh Sivan, Aamna Sharif, French Director Martin Provost amongst numerous others were present for the festival. Riteish Deshmukh who was present to attend the screening of Santosh Sivan's 'Urumi''said, "I've observed that Mumbai Film Festival has been growing every year. It’s a good opportunity to watch different types of movies under one roof with the people who have a great sense of world cinema."

In spite of the fourth day being a Sunday, a day of relaxation, a huge crowd turned up for the festival. Accompanying the audience for the movie screenings were celebrities such as Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vishal Bharadwaj, Shabana Azmi, Makarand Deshpande, Divya Dutta, Sakshi Tanwar, Raj Zutshi, Brijesh Hirjee, Pravesh Rana, Onir and Satish Kaushik.

Although the day's major attraction was George Clooney's 'The Ides of March', The Short Film Competition- Dimensions Mumbai got a great response as well. 20 films by the young, budding filmmakers were screened. There was an informal debate among the people after all these short movies were over, on which one of these short films was the best.

The star cast of the film 'Stanley Ka Dabba' was present for its screening. During the screening of this film, a surprise announcement left everyone overwhelmed with happiness and admiration. The film has won the best actor award at Children Young Audience SCHLINGEL.

The fourth day was yet again power packed with glitz, glamour and the best of world cinema. The Mumbai Festival's growing popularity was authorized on this day too.
