Matthew McConaughey's son happy about wedding

29th March 2012

Matthew McConaughey's son thinks it's "neat" his parents are getting married as he'll have the same surname as his mother.

The Hollywood hunk proposed to his model partner Camila Alves over Christmas. They have been together since 2007 and have two kids together, four-year-old son Levi and daughter Vida who is two.

The children can't wait to see the pair tie the knot.

"We've been living a married life for over six years now. We have homes together, we have family together, we have kids, we've built a life together. So, we've been living a married life this whole time," she told ET Canada.

"I think it's great for the kids. Levi actually understands what it means now that Mama's going to have the same last name as they have, so that's neat."

Although Camila is thrilled to be engaged, it isn't something she'd given much thought beforehand. She was content to have a family who she loved and were all happy.

"A lot of people, sometimes they're so stuck on, 'I gotta get married, I gotta get married,'" she mused. "They forget that the really important thing... is to have a healthy home, a healthy family, a healthy environment for your kids and to have everything going in a good, peaceful way."

Matthew and Camila are yet to set a date but there have been rumours they might tie the knot in the Brazilian model's homeland.

She insists they haven't even thought about plans yet as they have been busy moving home.

"I don't know what kind of bride I'm going to be. I may turn into a crazy woman, I don't know!" she laughed.
