(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew Morrison has collaborated with Kris Allen on an amazing song for his new album.
The Glee actor has already announced duets with Sir Elton John and Gwyneth Paltrow for his debut solo record and has now confirmed another famous face he has worked with. Kris, who won talent show American Idol, has penned the track Still Got Tonight which appears on the album. Matthew loved the song as soon as he heard it, but he initially had no idea Kris was involved with the lyrics.
"It's actually a funny story. I got my hands on the song. It was an amazing song, and I didn't find out until a little later on that Kris was a writer on it," Matthew told MTV News. "It was kind of strange, 'cause he didn't know either that I had done it."
Kris co-wrote the track with Andrew Frampton and Stephen Allen Kipner. He has admitted he didnt know Matthew was interested in the tune until the actor-and-singer had decided to record it.
"I had no idea. I got an email from the other writers saying 'Urgent, urgent,' and then I read it, and it said that Matthew Morrison was going to sing the song, and I was pretty stoked about it, Kris said. That's why we're here today. We thought we'd hang out."
Matthew is busy juggling his music and acting commitments. The hunk is required to film scenes for a special Glee episode in New York, and although the other cast members have already started shooting in the US city, he joined them a little later.
Well, I'm actually shooting all day today, and then I fly on the red eye tonight and I start shooting there tomorrow morning," he explained earlier this week. (C) Cover Media
