Michael Bubl keen to talk to critics

9th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Bubl always tries to understand why people criticise his music.

The 35-year-old Canadian singer is one of the worlds most popular recording artists, with his own music proving as popular as his numerous covers of classic hits.

Due to his easy-listening style and dashing good looks, Michael sometimes comes under fire from critics who accuse him of being bland and targeting middle-aged female music fans. The talented star finds this hurtful, so he always tries to speak to those who have criticised him to get to the bottom of their qualms.

Its when my name is used as an analogy for what is c**p. If its done unfairly Ill call the person and have a chat not to be aggressive, just to ask why they feel the need to use my name, he told the British edition of OK! magazine.

Michael is very comfortable with who he is, and has finally accepted that he cant alter the perceptions that some people have of him. The musician insists his loved-ones consider him to be a good guy, and he knows thats all that really matters.

With my first record I was marketed as the mom crooner. I understand why they thought that was the easiest and best way to sell records, but they sold an image which wasnt who I was, he explained.

I would try to prove I wasnt that, but Im not going to try to be something harder or different to what I am. I like myself and my friends think Im cool. (C) Cover Media
