January 15, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Experienced and accomplished actor, Michael Douglas, who recently had to struggle against the terrible throat cancer, is geared up to embark on piano lessons for his character of a flashy musician in a fresh biopic, 'Liberace'. The 66-year-old Douglas, who had emerged in Wall Street in 2010, was proclaimed as free from tumor a few days back. Six months before, he was diagnosed as suffering from guttural cancer, as indicated by People magazine. Liberace is anchored in the life of the dead marvel, Wladziu Valentino Liberace.
Douglas has remarked that he would have to function energetically to expand his vigour prior to re-emerging in Hollywood fully. He is excited to occupy the screen space with another skilful actor, Matt Damon, in the film. Douglas has remarked that he has lost copious muscular mass during his recuperation from throat cancer. Therefore, he has to strengthen himself to ensure the preparedness of his fingers for Liberace.
Douglas is also participating in colossal research to understand the role. Douglas has been viewing numerous tapes of Wladziu and has verbalized that Wladziu was not the most superlative dancer or the most paramount vocalist, notwithstanding which he was a fabulous pianist and entertainer. Douglas is, however, reluctant to exhibit his inimitable baritone voice and croon on film.
Douglas had undergone seven weeks of powerful radiation therapy to cure his throat cancer. His wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, is inundated by contentment that her husbands cancer healing was productive. She has also expressed gratefulness to the physicians for looking after Douglas effectually. This is a terrific way to commence the New Year.
Douglas will be present at the Golden Globe Awards on January 16 where he has been nominated for Best Supporting Award for his character of Gordon Gekko in the movie on Wall Street released in 2010.
