(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Jackson's voice was played in court today during the seventh day of the trial into his death.
Dr. Conrad Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter after the King of Pop died of acute Propofol intoxication in 2009.
A Los Angeles court heard slurred and incoherent ramblings of the Thriller star which were recorded by Murray just weeks before his death.
Jackson said he wanted to dedicated his This Is It concert tour to his children because he was heartbroken he never enjoyed his younger years.
"I love them because I didn't have a childhood," he said emotionally. "I had no childhood. I feel their pain. I feel their hurt."
Jackson still had a competitive spirit during his drug induced state and said he wanted to outdo The Beatles and Elvis Presley in the shows and go down as the greatest entertainer that ever lived.
The conversation was recorded on Murray's iPhone on Sunday May 10 2009 at 9.05am.
Prosecutors said it shows that Jackson was under the influence of "unknown agents" and that Murray was used to seeing the singer in that condition.
In part of the tape Murray is heard asking Jackson if he is okay to which the father-of-three replied, "I am asleep".
The recording was uncovered by investigators when they seized Murray's phone.
The trial is expected to last for up to six weeks and the 58-year-old physician faces up to four years in prison if convicted. He has denied the allegations. (C) Cover Media
