Michael Madsen has been arrested on an alleged drink driving charge - although the actor insists the "breathalyser test is flawed".
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore, the Kill Bill star was seen "driving erratically" in Malibu at around 2.50pm by a citizen who promptly called the cops.
US website TMZ reports that responding deputies caught Michael "weaving through traffic" in a red flame-emblazoned sports car. The 54-year-old actor failed a breathalyser test when he was pulled over, allegedly proving to be more than twice the legal limit.
Michael was arrested on suspicion of DUI after the failed sobriety test.
However, the star's attorney has released a statement saying the situation is just a "big misunderstanding".
Perry Wander has told the website that "the actor wants to assure his fans that he did not fail the field sobriety test and believes that the breathalyser test is flawed."
Michael remains in custody and his bail is reportedly set at $15,000.
It's not Michael's first brush with the law this year. He was arrested at his Malibu home in March after allegedly getting into a fight with his son after catching him smoking marijuana.
