Contrary to some of her counterparts who refused to play the lead role of Silk Smitha in the Telugu and Tamil remake of 'The Dirty Picture', Namitha, the well known south actress stated that she would love to play her character.

The actress has been working very hard to lose all that extra weight, said one of Namitha's publicist.

Namitha further stated, "Nowadays people are asking me about my opinion and commitment on the remake of Ekta Kapoor's The Dirty Picture. It gives me immense happiness. Because, I'm one of the very big fans of late Silk Smitha. In fact, I'm a suitable actress to do justice to the role. If the producer offered the role to me, I will do that without any second thought!"

Recently a survey revealed, that Namitha is the only actress having a large number of fans in the South Indian Cinema. Speaking on that she added, "It makes me more proud and happy. Thanks to my dear fans!"
