(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nick Lachey says Vanessa Minnillo took his "breath away" when he first saw her in her wedding dress.

The 37-year-old got married to his long term love on Friday on Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island in front of 35 friends and family.

But he said he only had eyes for Vanessa and when he saw her in her wedding gown, it was a moment he will never forget.

"It literally took my breath away. It's a moment you fantasise about, and I was certainly not disappointed," he gushed.

The television star wore a two piece Monique Lhuillier outfit with diamond studded earrings that Nick gave her during their first year of dating.

"I wanted to be in that long traditional wedding gown with my heels and I wanted my groom in a tux and shoes and not barefoot on the beach," Vanessa, 30, shared.

"There was just something so timeless, beautiful and romantic about having that element of a traditional wedding."

The couple enjoyed a four-day celebration on the idyllic island and said they did not stress about the small nuptial details but were "determined to have a great time no matter what!" (C) Cover Media
