(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicole Scherzinger says the music industry is a game of luck.
The 32-year-old songstress is best known for being the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls. Since leaving the group in December of last year, Nicole has had success with her debut solo album Killer Love.
The American star began her career as part of reality TV girl group Eden's Crush. Nicole feels she owes her blossoming career to the talent show that founded the band.
"It was an unbelievable opportunity for me coming from a small town and a humble background. I didn't have enough money to find my way to Los Angeles, so my plan was that in this business, timing is everything and you've got to be in front of the right people at the right time," she said in an interview with Wonderland magazine. "I've always kept an open heart and mind with opportunities, even if they're not exactly what I originally set out for."
Nicole insists true talent always shines through. The stunning star says although her career rose from a "manufactured" start, she believes that her genuine desire for success has seen her accomplishments in the music industry continually grow.
"As a friend told me a little while ago the cream rises to the top' so anybody who has ever doubted me and thought I was part of a manufactured group can see that I've just followed my heart, stayed true to who I am, seen what I wanted to do as an artist and am still growing," she added.
