Nithya Menon – Careless and Arrogant
27th June 2011
Nithya Menon, a well-known face in Kannada filmdom for films like '7 O'Clock' and 'Josh' and reached the peak of Telugu cinema with 'Ala Modalaindi', has had her share of ups and downs in the last few months. Her debut film 'Ala Modalaindi' took everyone by surprise because she was compared to the late Soundarya. The actress is now stuck in a controversy for rejecting an offer of superstar Venkatesh with whom she got a break in Telugu cinema. She was replaced in the other film at the last moment.
Recently, when she was asked why she had turned down Venkatesh's film, she reportedly said that the age gap between the two was too big to take up the role. If this 'revelation' wasn't enough, she quipped that she was replaced by Shruti Haasan as per Siddharth's wish in the other film. Actress Radhika in Kannada cinema disagreed to act with a superstar like Dr Vishnuvardhana on the age factor; it was Sridevi who did not see the age difference when she acted with aged NTR in Telugu movies.
In another interview Nithya Menon had stated "My statements were misinterpreted. I am a big fan of Venkatesh and I would never say anything which would offend him. All I meant was that it would be difficult for people to relate to our onscreen pair, because we belong to different generations and I look so small standing next to him." She is now branded as an "arrogant actress".
