It was a touching moment as Pamela Chopra, wife of veteran Yash Chopra traveled to Melbourne to receive an honor on her late husband's behalf.

Celebrating 100 years of cinema, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne paid a special tribute to veteran Yash Chopra, where the Victorian Government bestowed upon him an honorary title of 'Father of Contemporary Indian Cinema', courtesy, his strong ties with the region and constant support to the festival.

Pamela Chopra, who was present on the opening night of the festival surprised audiences as she sang a few lines from Yash Raj Films' 'Veer-Zaara' on request, which was applauded with a standing ovation.

Said Mitu Bhowmick Lange, Director IFFM, "Pam aunty singing at the opening was a very special warm moment. Everyone in the audience was overcome with genuine emotions. It was really a very special moment."

On the occasion Pamela Chopra said, "Yashji had a close connection with the IFFM. He was happy to support it as he believed in promoting Indian films in foreign countries. I am grateful to the festival and the Victorian Government for this honor and happy to travel to Melbourne to collect the same and keep the support and connection alive."

Yashji might not be amongst us today, but his memories will live forever in Bollywood.
