Ritu Chaudhary i.e. our very own Mahima Chaudhary has turned 38 today. Born as Ritu Chaudhary in Darjeeling, West Bengal on 13th September, 1973,  she had a winning streak in her right from her non-acting days. Before moving to college in Delhi, she won a local beauty paegant in Darjeeling. Later in the 1990s', she worked in many advertisements and also was a VJ on music channels.

Her film debut marked the end of Ritu and beginning of Mahima Chaudhary. Subhash Ghai noticed this bubbly VJ and cast her in Pardes in 1997 when he changed her name from Ritu to Mahima as M was a lucky alphabet for him, for the movie. After this she did many movies and she always had a very different role from her previous ones.

Even though she hasn't yet received her due share of respect and recognition, she has been appreciated and awarded for many movies. In fact Mahima Chaudhary's debut itself won her the Best Debut Female award.
