(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Paul McCartney's wedding ring designer Neil Lane has opened up about the singer's choice of design for his new bride.
The 69-year old Beatles singer married his third wife Nancy Shevell, 51, in a star-studded celebration on Sunday.
And the wealthy performer went all out for the eternity diamond band that he placed on Nancy's finger during the Town Hall ceremony.
The ring features five carats of square-cut diamonds set in platinum and was designed to "complement her engagement ring, but not overshadow it," the celebrity jeweller told People magazine.
"Nancy wanted a band with a vintage feel," Neil said adding that the art-deco piece was made to "work as a set".
"Paul loves it!" Neil shared of the newlywed's reaction to the timeless band.
"Paul is an artist. When we worked on the engagement ring, he took it seriously and was into the stones, shapes and styles like a kid in a candy store.
"I could see him imagining what it would look like on Nancy's finger."
Paul gushed about his new wife when asked how he felt in front of around 200 fans directly after the ceremony on the day that would have been the 71st birthday of his late bandmate John Lennon.
"Terrific, thank you. I feel married," he said. "I feel absolutely wonderful."
Paul and Nancy began dating in 2007 and announced their engagement in May this year.
This will be Paul's third marriage. After first wife Linda McCartney died in 1998, he tied the knot with Heather Mills in 2002. The pair's bitter divorce was finalised in 2008, with Heather winning a $37.8 million settlement.
Nancy was previously married to lawyer Bruce Blakeman. (C) Cover Media
