(Cover) - EN Star Style - Penlope Cruz reads scripts while having her make-up done for the red carpet, so she doesnt have to stare in a mirror for hours.

The Spanish actress loves getting glammed up for premieres and award ceremonies, although sometimes she finds all the attention overwhelming. There is a great deal of pressure on her to look her best, meaning she can spend hours having cosmetics professionally applied. Although she knows shes lucky to be pampered, Penlope doesnt think its healthy to be so obsessed with your looks.

I only ever use full make-up when I am making a movie or for a night out. Usually, I have an hour-and-a-half to get ready for a red-carpet event, she explained to the March edition of InStyle. I always set up my BlackBerry and use the time in hair and make-up to study my script, otherwise you spend too long staring at yourself in the mirror.

Getting ready isnt the only tricky part of going to an industry event. Penlope sometimes finds she is left starving by the end of the night as the party has gone on so long, so has a sneaky trick to ensure the hunger pangs dont get too bad.

If hair and make-up people come with me, Ill carry something to eat [instead of make-up] in my red-carpet bag almonds or a power bar in case its a long night, she laughed. (C) Cover Media
