PIL against Salman Khan's 'Bharat'

31st May 2019

Salman Khan's Eid release 'Bharat' has hit a speed breaker. An activist Vipin Tyagi has filed a PIL in Delhi High Court asking for change in the title of the film. According to Section 3 of Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use)Act, one cannot use the word 'Bharat' for commercial purpose

Thus, according to Vipin makers of the movie are strategically planning to earn big moolahs by titling the movie 'Bharat', giving rise to feeling of patriotism. He also demands for a change in one of the dialogues, where the character is compared to the country.

Meanwhile, neither the Delhi HC nor the makers have commented on the submitted PIL by the activist.

Starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, 'Bharat' is a movie based on a man's journey from the partition phase of India till date.

Lead pair will be seen in 5 different looks depending upon their age on screen. Co-produced by Salman Khan Films, Reel Life Production and T-Series, 'Bharat' is set to release on June 5, 2019.
