18th August 2010

August 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): In 'Urumi', the new period movie which is on the concluding stages of pre production, Prithviraj will appear as a fabricated character that is named Chiraycakal Kelu Nayanar.

The movie is set in the 16th century, the character of Prithviraj is that of a leader of a gang that is all set to slay Vaso Da Gama. Vaso Da Gama happens to be the first ever European traveler who landed down in Kerala in the late 15th century, in the year 1498.

Kelu nayanar is scripted as an associate of the erstwhile state of Kolathu Naadu. This happens to be a princely state.

Prithvi who for the first time is giving life to a mythological character in a period film is delighted to play such a character that is associated with several stories of heroism. The movie's story is by Sankar Ramakrishnan.

This Santhosh Sivan motion picture is likely to hit the floors at the Malchet Ghat. This place is located in Mahrashtra, straight away after the Onam season.

This mythlogical film, 'Urumi'is produced by the likes of Santosh Sivan and Prithviraj in connection with Shaji Nateshan. Here's hoping all the best for the cast and crew of the film. Let's hope that the film creates a good response amongst the audience.
