27th September 2011

Ace director Priyadarshan will come out with a sequel to his much appreciated film 'Kanchivaram'. Titled 'Kanchivaram 2', the second part too is expected to talk about the plight of poor weavers, who were settled in and around Kancheepuram, the 'silk capital' of Tamil Nadu.

Confirming this, Priyadarshan says, "Yes, I will be doing a second part of Kanchivaram. After completing the project, I will make a film on HIV-AIDS and a movie about girl child. All the three films will throw light on serious issues. The projects are currently in initial stages."

'Kanchivaram', a Prakash Raj-Shreya Reddy starrer which hit the screens in 2009, went on to win awards and accolades, including the national award for the best film. "It is an important movie in my career. Kanchivaram is so close to my heart," says the celebrated director.

Meanwhile, Priyan's next Hindi film 'Tezz' is said to be a thriller. Talking about the project, he says, "The investment and efforts for the film are huge. So my expectations on the film too are big. Let's see how the audiences react to the film."
