Bollywood Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus dream project, 'Bajirao Mastani' has been in news for more than 15 years now. 

The filmmaker announced his desire to make the film which will be based on the life of Peshwa Bajirao and his love interest Mastani a long time ago. 

He originally wanted to cast Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film, years ago when they were a couple. But after the ugly break-up, the film went for a toss. And since then there have only been rumors floating around the film. 

In the past, names like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan were linked to the film for its lead role, but in recent times Ranveer Singh too was rumored to be in the race. Later, it was also reported that Ajay Devgn was finalized to lead the epic love story. 

Though nothing has been confirmed, the rumors have yet again gained momentum. 

Recently, there were reports that Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan were offered the role of Mastani one after another, but neither of them finalized it. 

And now we hear Priyanka Chopra, who did a sizzling item number in SLB's last hit 'Ram-Leela', has been offered a coveted role in the same film. 

According to the grapevine, the actress has been offered the role of Kashibai, Peshwa's first wife.

It remains to be seen how true the rumors are this time.
