(Cover) - EN Movies - Rachel Weisz is being considered to star opposite Johnny Depp in the Thin Man remake.

American film director Rob Marshall and Hollywood actor Johnny are working on a remake of the 1934 film.

Johnny would take the role of Nick Charles, originally played by William Powell, while it is being reported that Rachel may star as his wife, Nora.

According to Cinema Blend, the 41-year-old British actress, who is best known for her roles in Enemy at the Gates, The Mummy and The Constant Gardener, is being considered for one of the lead roles in the comedy which focuses on a married couple who solve crimes.

According to sources, the Warner Bros. film is still in development and Johnny is currently finding time in his schedule while he is preparing for upcoming movies including The Lone Ranger and Dark Shadows.

Because of the present time constraints, there are currently no concrete negotiations, but Rachel is reportedly the front runner for the part.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood star is also in talks to join Tony Gilroys The Bourne Legacy, opposite Jeremy Renner.

If she secures the role, Rachel would star in the fourth film of the series alongside Jeremy, who will play a lethal operative from a government program that is even more dangerous than Jason Bourne, who was originally portrayed by Matt Damon.

Rachel has also been rumoured to be in talks to take a role of the villainous Evanora in Oz, the Great and Powerful. Deadline reports that scheduling conflicts between the film and Bourne might prevent the actress from starring in both movies.

Oz production is scheduled to start this summer, while the Bourne film will begin shooting in September. (C) Cover Media
