RGV apologetic for his misbehaviour

1st September 2014

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma yet again got himself into a controversy due to his overt outspoken nature. The filmmaker had posted bizarre wishes for his followers on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.

"The guy who couldn't save his own head from being cut, how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganpathi day to morons!" tweeted Varma.

This particular tweet got him a lot of negative remarks and hateful reactions from all over as it questioned the very belief and faith of the followers of the deity.

This made him realize his sarcasm had gone beyond control and that he needed to apologize to the outraged masses. Hence he immediately apologized for his atheist tweet on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

"All tweets I put on Ganesha were in my usual manner but unintended by me to hurt anyone's sentiments...but if they did I sincerely apologize," tweeted Varma. By the time he tweeted his apology, the controversy had taken an ugly turn as it not only sparked a controversy, but also got him criticism from across the nation demanding strict action against him.

There has already been a legal case filed against him for the same. Immediately after the incident, lawyer and political activist Shehzad Poonawalla lodged a complaint against the Bollywood filmmaker to the Delhi Police and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
