A biopic on 'Shakeela', the highest paid 90s adult film star from down south who started her career with small roles and turned into a massive superstar, is set to hit the silver screen in summer 2019.

Now the makers have just dropped the first look poster featuring Richa Chadda turmoiled by bright gold ornaments which are blistering her look as Shakeela. With a confident look on her face and the deepest stare, Richa slays with the first look.

Highlighting the tagline with a font 'Not a Porn Star'; Shakeela is one of the first Indian actors whose films were dubbed in 16 international languages. The cast and crew have wrapped up the final schedule of the film in Bengaluru  

On essaying the role of Shakeela Richa spoke to a leading daily, "I really enjoyed the process of working on this film. It’s so different from anything I have ever done To portray a well-known living personality albeit a controversial one, is always a challenge. The ups and downs in her life make for a great, almost unbelievable cinematic story." 

Speaking about the expectations from the film, the real-life Shakeela told, "Whatever needs to be told, should be told. Tabhi biopic banta hai. Sab hide karke picture banane ka kya matlab hai?" Mostly it is the brave attempt of director Indrajit Lankesh who tries to break this stereotype about Shakeela who was considered as a soft porn actress.
