Ricky Gervais: Awards are fun

5th November 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ricky Gervais says "it's nice to be accepted" by Hollywood.

The British funnyman is famed for TV series The Office and Extras. He has since gone on to star in movies including Ghost Town and The Invention of Lying.

Ricky has won a number of honours for his work in TV and film, including seven BAFTAs and three Golden Globe Awards.

He says it's great to be welcomed into the Hollywood sphere.

"It's nice to be accepted, but all of that stuff films, The Golden Globes and The Simpsons is just fun to me," he explained in an interview with Closer magazine.

"The things I'm most proud of are The Office, Extras, Life's Too Short, and comedy gigs."

Ricky caused a stir as host of the Golden Globes in February this year. The 50-year-old comedian made a few controversial jokes, which reportedly failed to impress the A-list audience.

Ricky doesn't regret his high-profile gig, and insists he's not an "outcast" in Hollywood since making the jibes.

"No, that's ludicrous," he said.

"People say Ricky p**sed off the whole of Hollywood.' I really didn't, but even if I did, t wouldn't matter to me because I write and produce my own projects anyway." (C) Cover Media
