(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rihanna thinks the character that she plays in her upcoming movie is "badass" and she enjoys portraying a "killer".

Rihanna has a leading role as Lieutenant Raikes in upcoming action movie Battleship. The superstar was impressed with her character's knowledge of artillery and admired the Lt. Raikes' commando spirit.

"[Lt. Raike's] this badass weapons officer; she knows everything about weapons, not only hers, but all the weapons on board," Rihanna explained to Entertainment Tonight. "She's a fighter. She's a killer. She's not afraid of anything. She likes a challenge because she can handle it."

Rihanna had to get tough for this shoot. Garbed in uniform and armed with some serious weapons, Rihanna dug deep into this role.

"I got to shoot some really serious, powerful weapons, which is really, really fun," Rihanna said. "We wanted a bunch of tattoos just to dirty me up a little bit - and, of course, no make-up."

Although the public is interested in what occurs in Rihanna's love life, Lt. Raikes does not have the same experience. Lt. Raikes is not at all boy crazy, in the romantic sense.

"She could care less about boys," Rihanna said. "I'm one of the boys."
