Rihanna is determined on doing "whatever the hell she wants" when it comes to Chris Brown, says a source.
The stunning songstress has sparked controversy of late following claims she has reunited with her ex-boyfriend they split three years ago.
The former couple broke up after Chris physically attacked Rihanna and was subsequently charged with felony battery. In recent months they have been in contact via their Twitter accounts and simultaneously released remixes of tracks featuring each other.
Rihanna's management at Roc Nation have reportedly warned her away from the singer, however the beauty is keen to resist their constant pleas.
"Her management banned her from reuniting with Chris, but she said she'll do whatever the hell she wants to," a source told the New York Post.
"Rihanna is rebelling. She says they have been working her too hard and she wants some time to herself. They fear she'll secretly record an album with Brown, just to defy them."
Rihanna recently spoke of her rebellious streak in an interview with the US edition of Elle magazine. She discussed the thrill of risk-taking, which she did by taking to the water with sharks for her role in upcoming film debut Battleship.
"When you know you like a guy, or when you've been in love . . . That's the same feeling you have swimming with sharks," she explained.
"That's the same feeling you have when doing anything daring, risky, spontaneous, or unpredictable. I think having those butterflies is the closest thing to being in love And when you play it safe, you don't feel anything at all."
Rihanna also added fuel to the relationship rumour mill when she made a late night visit to Ashton Kutcher's home earlier this month.
A photographer spotted the singer driving up to Ashton's property in Los Angeles around midnight. Rihanna, who was accompanied by her security team, reportedly spent several hours at the actor's home before leaving in the early hours of the morning.
