26th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robert Pattinson has described fame as being like a monster.

The 24-year-old heartthrob shot to international fame playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise, based on the best-selling novels of Stephenie Meyer.

His good looks and impressive acting skills gained Robert huge popularity, and his romance with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart made people even more interested in him.

But Robert is famously shy, and has always insisted he isnt interested in being a celebrity. Now he has described fame as being monstrous, admitting he struggles to find the balance between success and anonymity.

Its kind of like a monster thing. The more people think they know you, the more youre identified with a certain thing. People always used to ask me about typecasting. I dont really worry about it, but the fact is that a lot of it is about making money,

People will judge your work and its not making money, theyre like, oh, its over. If you want to just do something thats good or whatever, it needs to win Oscars. It needs to be extreme wither way, which is difficult, he told the British edition of OK! magazine.

Robert is adamant he will justify his celebrity with smart movie choices, much in the same way Hollywood icon Leonardo DiCaprio has. The star admires Leonardos determination and passion for the art of movies.

Hysteria can only go on so long. Leonardo DiCaprio, he provides a reason for his fame. Its weird because I was doing little independent films, but he got nominated for an Oscar when he was like 11 and he always really wanted to be an actor. I kind of just fell into acting, he confessed. (C) Cover Media
