(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robert Pattinson often ends up staying in because his pals dont invite him out.

The 24-year-old British actor is adored by fans across the globe for his portrayal of vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise, although he doesnt feel particularly popular.

Robert says on the rare occasions when he isnt working he often ends up partying on his own because his friends never call him up.

"No one ever asks me to do anything. It's just so easy. When I'm not working I'm still one of those people who calls up their entire phone book to say, 'Hey, what you doing? Are you doing anything tonight? Can I come with you?' he told British newspaper The Sun.

"I just hang [in my hotel room] and get drunk. It's terrible."

Robert has also been discussing his political aspirations. The heartthrob adores being an actor, although he is also passionate about politics. The star knows it may sound absurd, but he harbours a genuine desire to launch a different career one day.

"I guess when I was going to go to university I was going to study international relations, something like that, because I wanted to be in politics, he explained.

"It sounds so ridiculous for me to say I'm curious about politics and might be a politician one day. I'd love to but I wouldn't want to be held accountable." (C) Cover Media
