Rosie O'Donnell has revealed she got engaged months ago.
Rosie's engagement to Michelle Rounds became public knowledge on Monday after an audience member at her talk show heard the news been discussed.
The 49-year-old comedienne says both she and Michelle have been planning their future together for some time, but admits she felt uncomfortable officially announcing the news on her talk show.
"Michelle said to me a few months ago, when we got engaged, she said, 'How come you didn't say it on your show?' And I was like, 'Honey, I don't know how.' I didn't know how to say it," she revealed on Tuesday's The Rosie Show.
Rosie has never been confident about publically discussing her love life. The star disapproves of celebrities who do.
"You don't want to become one of those celebrities that talks about their relationship ad nauseum and makes it into a fairy-tale thing," she said.
"And then they go and have an affair with somebody. I don't want to say any names," she jokingly added.
Rosie and Michelle met in a Starbucks coffee shop earlier this year and made their public debut as a couple in September at Rosie Theater Kids Gala in New York.
Rosie has four children with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter. They had married in 2007 after several years of being together but divorced in 2010.
