Rosie O'Donnell "jumped up" at the chance to send her single pal on a date last weekend.
The 49-year-old comedienne, who is currently deeply in love with her fiance Michelle Rounds, was in Indianapolis, Indiana last weekend for Super Bowl XLVI.
Rosie conducted a special interview with Jenny McCarthy for XM/Sirius Satellite Radio in which Jenny revealed that she "had a crush on [American football quarterback] Tim Tebow."
Tim was in the same building, waiting in another room to do an interview with a different radio show.
When Rosie caught wind of his whereabouts, she quickly seized the opportunity to unite the pair.
"Rosie jumped up and took Jenny by the arm and walked her over to Tim," a source told In Touch magazine. "She said to him, Hi, I'm Rosie O'Donnell and this is Jenny McCarthy and she's single. I think you two would be perfect together. Now exchange telephone numbers.' Rosie then walked away."
Jenny, 39, and Tim, 24, seemed to get along famously.
The duo did in fact exchange numbers and they had the opportunity to chat a bit before Tim was ushered away to his interview.
Jenny was elated by their interaction. When dishing the exciting news to her pal Jenny gushed, "We'll see what happens now Ro!"
Jenny has spoken before about her desire to be involved with a professional athlete.
"[I'm] ready to hook up with a football player," she was quoted as saying by the New York Post earlier this month.
Jenny was in a high-profile relationship with actor Jim Carrey for five years.
The couple ended their romance in April 2010.
Jenny has been single since splitting from sports agent Paul Krepelka last year.
