Sarah Jessica Parker: SATC isn't over yet

17th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Sarah Jessica Parker has hinted she'd like to do another Sex and the City movie, saying there is "one more story" left to tell.

The actress played fashion fan Carrie Bradshaw in the American television show and two subsequent movies. The second big screen adaptation was released last year and was critically panned, leading to speculation it would be the last outing for Carrie and her friends Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, Miranda Hobbes, who is portrayed by Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis' character Charlotte York Goldenblatt.

Sarah Jessica has hinted a final picture might be in the pipeline, but she isn't giving too much away.

"I think there is perhaps one more small, important story to tell. Whether or not we choose to do that, or when we choose to do that is unknown, but it's nice to ponder," she revealed at the Cannes International Film Festival.

"I don't [know what the four characters will be up to]. But somebody else does."

There have been rumours a new Sex and the City movie might take the form of a prequel with Blake Lively playing a young Carrie, although she's since said she isn't in the running. Sarah Jessica was said to be unsure of the move, with Kristin also admitting she didn't know if she liked the idea.

Sarah Jessica has now had time to have a rethink and has decided the idea could work, but only if the script was spot on.

"I think it always comes down to story. What is the story that people want to tell?" she mused.

"I feel proprietary, in the best possible way, about that entire franchise. But I think there are lots of talented storytellers, and lots of talented actors who might be part of it." (C) Cover Media
