Selena Gomez loves her "crazy" film character.
The actress is starring in upcoming Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers alongside James Franco, Emma Roberts and Vanessa Hudgens.
The drama follows a group of college friends who land in jail after stealing to fund their spring break vacation. The girls find themselves bailed out by a drug dealer who wants them to carry out some dirty work.
Selena plays the part of Faith, and says the role was liberating to play.
"She's the little more tamed down character but also still gets a little crazy here and there," she told e! Online.
"She goes on spring break with her girlfriends and they end up getting into a whole mess of things. They're partying and drinking. We end up in jail."
Selena is famed for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award-winning Disney television series Wizards of Waverly Place. She's subsequently ventured into feature films and starred in TV movies including Another Cinderella Story.
The 19-year-old star is ready for her turn on the big screen.
"I'm nervous," she admitted, before adding: "It's a little edgy, but it's fun. I fought for that role. I flew to Nashville and told [Korine] I want be a part of it."
