(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Selena Gomez admits she cried over being home-schooled.

The singer was born in Texas and her parents separated when she was only five. Selena began acting aged seven in Barney & Friends before landing a role in the Disney teen sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place, and has gone on to forge a successful career.

But the 18-year-old, who has been romantically linked to Justin Bieber, says she was annoyed when she found out about her schooling set-up.

She was forced into it because her family was moving house something she thought would deprive her of traditional school joys.

I actually cried. We were moving and I had no choice. I was like, Im not going to get a locker and Im not going to go to prom, Selena told OK! magazine.

Yet the star learnt to deal with the decision. She spoke to her pals and became pleased after hearing about their day-to-day troubles in a normal classroom.

That [annoyance] lasted a month and then I was fine, especially after talking to my friends about what they were dealing with at school, Selena explained. (C) Cover Media
