(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Selena Gomez is very "true to Texas", says her co-star.

The singer-and-actress is known for her starring role on Disney TV show Wizards of Waverly Place. She portrays Alex, with Jake T. Austin playing her younger brother Max. The two got along very well on set.

"She's just a regular person, really down to earth and chilled-out and she's very true to Texas," Jake explained.

Jake appears in the movie New Year's Eve, which follows several intertwining stories on December 31 in New York City.

It has an all-star cast including Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele and Zac Efron.

Landing a role in the romantic comedy was a joyful experience for Jake.

"We filmed a scene outside my actual grandma's apartment in New York!" he enthused to Shout magazine. "She came home and was annoyed because of all the equipment and noise, and she was about to ask how long it would be going on for but suddenly realised it was me!

"It was kind of a shock for her of course she didn't mind about the filming after that." (C) Cover Media
