Shankar's 2.0 gets widest release ever for an Indian film

Helmed by Shankar starring two great actors Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' with academy award winner A.R Rahman's music is a highly anticipated film and made on a mega budget. The VFX fest just a week away from its release and has already registered a revenue of a whopping Rs 100 crore plus.

Made on a mega scale of Rs 500+ crore. Producers, LYCA, have already sold distribution rights of all the versions for a record price, the distributors are reportedly starting the process to lock the screen count. As per the reports, '2.0' will release approximately on 6600 to 6800 screens, including 17 IMAX theatres, in the country. This will be the widest release of all time, defeating even the previous record holder, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, that was released approximately on 6500 screens.

Although after a disastrous run of 'Thugs of Hindostan', it is doubtful to guess is the hype real but it is clear now that 2.0 gets the widest release date till date for any Indian film. The film was also cleared by the censor board with U/A certificate with an approved run time of 2 Hour 28 Minutes; the movie is getting massive showcasing as it will be allotted around 32,000 to 33,000 shows across the country, the report added. 

Expectations are sky high with this Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer movies as this Bollywood mega-budgeted film. Big Bucks in the opening is for sure.
